Now the topic is problems with the KEYS of troubles
2. Keys troubles
2.1 Home Key
Check:
Inspect the Key Home on the Cover Front Assy.
Action:
1. If the Key Home is clogged – clean it.
2. If the Key Home is damaged – replace it.
Check:
Inspect the Sub PBA Dome Switch on the Sub PBA.
Action:
If the Sub PBA Dome Switch is damaged – replace it.
Check:
Inspect the key switch on Sub PBA.
Action:
1. If dirty or oxidized – clean them.
2. If the key switch is damaged – replace the Sub PBA.
Check:
Inspect the ZIF connector of the Sub PBA to the Relay FPC.
Action:
1. If not properly connected – disconnect and reconnect
2. If dirty or oxidized – clean both sides of the ZIF connector.
3. If the connector is damaged – replace the Sub PBA.
Check:
Check the ZIF connector of the Relay FPC to the SIM FPC
Module.
Action:
1. If not properly connected – disconnect and reconnect
2. If dirty or oxidized – clean both sides of the ZIF connector.
Check:
Inspect the Relay FPC.
Action:
If the Relay FPC or its ZIF connector is damaged – replace
the Relay FPC.
Check:
Check the BtB connector of the SIM FPC Module to the
Main PBA.
Action:
1. If not properly connected – disconnect and reconnect
2. If dirty or oxidized – clean both sides of the BtB
connector.
Check:
Inspect the SIM FPC Module.
Action:
1. If the SIM FPC Module or its ZIF connector is damaged –
replace the SIM FPC Module.
2. Send to higher level of repair.
2.2 Menu And Back Keys
Check:
Inspect the touch area of the menu and back keys on the
Cover Front Assy.
Action:
If the touch area is dirty – clean it.
Check:
Inspect the BtB connector of the FPC to the Main PBA.
Action:
1. If not properly connected – disconnect and reconnect.
2. If dirty or oxidized – clean both sides of the BtB
connector.
3. If the Cover Front Assy or its connector is damaged –
replace the Cover Front Assy.
4. Send to higher level of repair.
2.3 Volume Key
Check:
Inspect the Key Volume on Cover Front Assy.
Action:
1. If dirty or clogged – clean it.
2. If the Key Volume is damaged – replace it.
Check:
Inspect the volume key push switch on the Relay FPC.
Action:
If dirty or clogged – clean it.
Check:
Check the ZIF connector of the Relay FPC to the SIM FPC
Module.
Action:
1. If not properly connected – disconnect and reconnect
2. If dirty or oxidized – clean both sides of the ZIF connector.
Check:
Inspect the Relay FPC.
Action:
1. If the Relay FPC or its ZIF connector is damaged –
replace the Relay FPC.
Check:
Check the BtB connector of the SIM FPC Module to the
Main PBA.
Action:
1. If not properly connected – disconnect and reconnect.
2. If dirty or oxidized – clean both sides of the BtB
connector.
Check:
Inspect the SIM FPC Module.
Action:
1. If the SIM FPC Module or its BtB connector is damaged –
replace the SIM FPC Module.
2. Send to higher level of repair.
2.4 ON/OFF key
Check:
Inspect the Key On/Off (a) on the Cover Front Assy and the
input switch (b).
Action:
1. If (a) or (b) is dirty or clogged – clean them.
2. If (a) is damaged – replace the Key On/Off.
Check:
Inspect the key switch on the SIM FPC Module.
Action:
If the key switch is damaged – replace the SIM FPC Module.
Check:
Check the BtB connector of the SIM FPC Module to the
Main PBA.
Action:
1. If not properly connected – disconnect and reconnect
2. If dirty or oxidized – clean both sides of the BtB
connector.
Check:
Inspect the SIM FPC Module.
Action:
1. If the SIM FPC Module or its BtB connector is damaged –
replace the SIM FPC Module.
2. Send to higher level of repair.
These are all about keys failure cause of Xperia hardware troubles, now you can do fixing the failures as above.
