Dead Phone flashing using SETool Box for Sony Ericsson Experia W8.

Diagnose : The phone doesn't start

                   When Power Button Pressed it's only have vibrate

                   No display after failed to boot up

1. Run setool2g.

2. Tab PDA, choose USB on Interface, and select phone type

3. Tab Settings and check mark items there, see below picture

4. Back to PDA now click Add to choose Firmware Package for E16i Xperia W8

5. Then hit Identify

6. After phone identifying finished, now time to hit Flash. Wait the flashing progress finish

7. After flashing and customizing the phone finished, Clear the firmware package field. Then again hit Flash button. Here it is the finalizing.

Attach the USB and phone battery out of the phone for a while. Put back the battery to the phone then turn on the phone. Now it should be okay. It's reborn.

Write GDFS and Change IMEI mismatch

NOTE : Make sure you're know what you do with GDFS area on SONY mobile phones. If you've made a mistake on it you better to recycling you device. DON'T DO ANY TO THIS AREA IF YOU DO NOT NEED.

You can see on setool log for mistake to GDFS area on Identify. Cause it will reads all inside your phone software. When you need to repair GDFS ( really need to repair ) may this will help you to do with easily.

1. Open setool2g, for example  i am using K618i of sonyericsson phone.

2. Tab SonyEricsson, choose your phone model. Open a GDFS backup file to MISC Files then hit Write GDFS.

3. After Write GDFS finished next perform phone Identify again. Then you'll know that you have choose a correct GDFS or not. If you use other phone GDFS file you'll got this error message on the log watch below.

4. OK don't worry of its. We gonna fix it now.

5. Now tab Empty Fill & Repair, left everything blank on setool. Type your correct IMEI number and so CID then checked Write IMEI to OTP. NOTE : DO NOT TYPE THE GDFS IMEI WITH RED COLORED LETTERS 

6. Next go to Settings and give checks for some items as below and you'll got a warn there

7. Now back to SonyEricsson and hit Unlock/repair [ no need credit and internet ]

8. Next back to check the phone by Identify, see if there any change to the GDFS area.

9. now try to Read GDFS to save GDFS file with correct IMEI number of the phone to use it when repairing the GDFS of the same phone so you don't have to confusing after repairing the GDFS area  on the phone. It will saves GDFS with correct IMEI.

SETOOL2 SMART CARD NOT FOUND on Windows 8 32 bit

trouble may have to the new installation of a new software that have a specific driver for running the hardware of its software. This could be happen too to the SETOOL Box. If it happen to the new installation on a fresh new Windows 8, it would be the way out.

Let see how to resolve it

Don't close error report pop-up let it stay open when fixing it so we will know what change.

Right click Computer> Manage> Device Manager. Look at Other devices yellow Info icons. First right click SchlumbergerScema > Update driver. I do believe that nowaday all of us have an internet connection. So better think to run it online by choosing Search Automatically for update driver software because it will tokes few seconds only than you got headache when you do on CD install way.

Close window after e-gate Smart Card finished [ about 15 seconds long ]. Now back to Device Manager, see what has changed. The next yellow Info icon should be be repair too. This is about the connection of SETOOL Box to PC

Do the same way as before to resolving it.

OK the next steps, close all open window and pop-up then restart PC. When PC has in normal again right click Computer> Manage> Device Manager. See there should be no more yellow Info icon for device connect to your PC. And see Ports [ COM&LPT ] for USB Serial Port allow for your SETOOL Box and Smart Card.

Now run setool2g and make change to the Interface as same as USB Serial Port [ COMx ] detected

Next connect any phone to test the result what have made.

It should be work to do a job.

SonyEricsson K618 HDR block not accepted,error: 19 [setool2g]

To prevent you got message HDR block not accepted,error: 19 on setool2g when try to flashing every old sony ericsson products, you should to know some actions.

- Make sure phone and cable connection both are good.

- The battery power at least have 60%

- Choose correct firmware for each phone

The phone i have the trouble because of my friend trying to fix phone GDFS, and he change phone firmware into sony ericsson K610 firmware. These could be the problems.

When i try to fix it back to using K618 firmware its failed. Now try to read an easy step to make the phone work again even it uses K610 firmware. 

[*] on setool2g go to tab settings, make little change there.

[*] Back to tab SonyEricsson. Add the firmwares of K610 then hit Flash.

[*] After Flash finish perform Unlock/Repair. Next hit Identify to check the phone.

[*] Identify will see the phone if it works again.

SETool v1.1297 New Update 22042013 [ How To Download ]

As the most consistent team, now setool box team has just released new version of SETool Box. Yes, this version is v1.1297 released on 2013 04 22 [ when the support not ready ]. But have you been touching support area successfully? if you haven't, try this tricks to your Windows so you can click Go Support then go there.

OKAY first copy these ip address to Notepad or whatever else your text editor:

Have you know to do ?

Let's do it :

1. Close all programs in running.

2. Double click My Computer or Start > My Computer. On the left pane click localdisk C: so it will show you the drop down list. Then click Windows folder and click on System32 folder.

3. Click 2x System32 folder and you'll found folder name drivers.

4. When drivers folder opened by double click on it open etc folder for next step.

5. Then right click on host <file> not host folder and choose Open.

6. Choice Notepad on the next window to open file.

7. When the host file opened in notepad, now you need to add both ip address above at the very last of file.

8. Next step is to reboot your pc as needed. Then connect SETool Box to your pc and run it. Click Go Support when it has open.

9. At the first you come to the site it will show you the new version ready to download.

These all will not so long just like the descriptions as above i explain to you all. But it better then my friends still confuse on how to go to the support.setool.net
